“‘Who in the world am I?’ Ah, that’s the great puzzle!”
- Alice from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”
“Who in the world am I?” I asked myself, and what is it that my heart is leading me towards? So, I followed the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole into a world of mystery... “Curiouser and Curiouser,” but ever so willing to follow a path to which my heart desires no matter which way it takes me. I have always been fascinated by illustrations, whether it be Snoopy from Charles Schulz’s comic Peanuts or the Anatomical Studies of Leonardo da Vinci. My love for illustration has always been the foundation for my reasoning of being a Graphic Designer and Artist.
My roots began in being classically trained in Traditional Art; I obtained a B.F.A. with an emphasis
on drawing and was later accredited a Figurative Arts Drawing Certification by the Texas Academy of Figurative Art Atelier. I also attained a B.A. in Art History to better understand the background of art and design. However, as I looked to the future, I saw that the technology of design was far outreaching my scope of knowledge. I knew where art would become of greatest use and I have set my final course to become an artist in the digital arena, a Graphic Designer and Illustrator.
My background studies have aided me greatly in being able to research, process, develop, and
finalize works in a cohesive manner. Illustration and color define much of my work, but had I not learned so many other skills, they would never convey a message to the audience. Even though my path has been a long one, I am grateful for all the experiences and knowledge I received. Life truly is Wonderland, and I will continue my journey through it, being inspired and amazed by everything I see.
